Australian Wine Tasting Osaka 2024
ABOUT: This is an Austrade led in-market event that is funded and supported by WA WINES TO THE WORLD and the WA Government Office in Japan (JTSI)
Nicknamed ‘Tenka no Daidokoro’ or the nation’s kitchen, Osaka is known as the food capital of Japan. Incorporating the surrounding cities of Kyoto and Kobe, it is home to 21.8 million people with an economy the size of South Korea (ranked 15th in the world).
This wine tasting event will showcase wineries with a presence in the Japan market via representation of their importer or agent. Targeting sommeliers, food service, hospitality, retail and media representatives, it is an extremely cost-effective opportunity to gain traction against competing global wine makers that tend to focus their promotional activities solely on the Tokyo market.
OBJECTIVES: Provide an opportunity for in-market exporters to engage trade and media representatives with WA wines.
AUDIENCE: Japan sommeliers, food service, hospitality, retail and media representatives
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all WA exporters with existing distribution in Japan.
Producers must have engaged and secured agreement from their Japanese importer to represent them at the Tasting
Whilst attendance in person at the event is not necessary, if importers wish to have producers support them at their booth, this will be welcomed
COST TO PARTICIPATE: The total participation fee is $600, however WA WINES TO THE WORLD (together with the WA Govt Office in Japan) is looking to subsidise this cost 50%, so that you pay a net fee of just $300 +GST.
TIMING: The event will be held at the Hilton Osaka on the 23rd May, 2024.
