China Wine Buyer Tour

ABOUT: WA WINES TO THE WORLD - together with the South West Development Commission and Great Southern Development Commission (TradeStart), and Australia’s South West - is funding a delegation of Chinese wine buyers to visit Margaret River and the Great Southern, taking place in September/October 2024.

This will be an industry-led immersive tour covering both regions, packed full of curated producer tastings, regional masterclasses and trade showcase events, as well as a good amount of exploration of the landscapes and terroir of the regions.  We are aiming to bring in a group of 10 key buyers from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. Buyers will be confirmed in August, but we are targeting major importers, distributors, retailers (physical chain stores and eCommerce) and F&B group buyers.

OBJECTIVE: Target major wine buyers in China seeking to expand their wine ranges, with a significant interest in the wines of WA. Buyers will include those that direct import (seeking new-to-market wines) and source from distributors (seeking established brands). This tour aims to create significant export and listing opportunities for WA brands, ultimately generating sales and building awareness of the category as a whole.

ELIGIBILITY: Specific opportunities are now open to Margaret River and Great Southern producers seeking distribution or with established distribution in China (including Hong Kong and Macau).

TIMING: 30th September to 4th October, 2024.
