Visiting the market

Checking out the market properly online is now as important as it was for in-person visits — you need to be fully prepared.

See the Wine Australia market visit checklist here.

See the Austrade Visiting the Market Guide here.

Virtual wine events

Virtual events in market are critical in today’s low/no-travel environment. virtualwineevents.com are the world leaders in getting people to your virtual events - a listing here increases the success of publicly available events.

Also visit the Spitbucket blog - where analysis of the data from the virtualwineevents.com platform is analysed, particularly this article.

International wine writers & publications

We have prepared a list of international wine writers and publciations, which you can access from our “who can help mepage.

International events

There are a wide range of international wine events that may interest you. Right now a lot of them are going online, making them much more accessible in the long term. Resources that may be valuable include:

eventseye.com has a global map of viticulture, enology and beer shows, searchable by country.

winebusiness.com has a US event calendar.

Winetitles Calendars (Tip: find the category you are looking for and use 2021 as a search term).

Austrade events

Austrade runs a range of events throughout the year including virtual events, market briefings and (when possible) International missions and visits.

Keep an eye out for relevant events here.

Australian Wine Discovered

Australian Wine Discovered is Wine Australia’s global education program. Western Australia resources have been developed for the Margaret River Wine Region.

See the resources and learn how to use the tools here. Go straight to the Margaret River resource here.

Australian Tourism Data Warehouse

The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) is currently being re-designed to increase its value to The Australian wine sector.

For exporters, being on the ATDW increases your discoverability and provides another way that people searching will find about your unique character online.

Get onto ATDW here.

WA Exporter Directory

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s Western Australian Exporter Directory profiles over 150 businesses by product category, providing overseas buyers with direct access to food and beverage exporters.
