WINE BLAST Inbound Visit & Podcast
ABOUT: The WINE BLAST podcast, hosted by Susie Barrie and Peter Richards (both Masters of Wine) was launched in 2020 and swiftly became a Top-10 podcast in the US and UK (Chartable: Apple, Food) with a 5-star rating on iTunes, ranked in the top 1% of podcasts globally by downloads (Buzzcast), heard in over 200 countries and recommended in The Daily Telegraph, Radio Times, Evening Standard, Club Oenologique and Wine Folly.
WA WINES TO THE WORLD will bring Wine Blast (Peter Richards MW) direct to Western Australia on an immersive 1-week tour of Margaret River and the Great Southern to develop content for a 2-part Western Australian wine podcast series. This will comprise a dedicated podcast on the Margaret River region and another on the Great Southern region, framed as an opportunity for listeners to experience (and ultimately purchase) Western Australian wines and travel to WA wine regions.
Wine Blast deliverables:
Two podcast episodes (min 30 mins each), professionally edited and hosted by two award-winning Masters of Wine with more than two decades of broadcasting experience and 12 years on BBC1.
A 360-degree package, with dedicated social media campaign including posts, tweets and stories (e.g. one post on IG + min 2 stories, 1 tweet, 1 YouTube video).

OBJECTIVE: Showcase the wines, producers and regions of Margaret River and Great Southern to a highly engaged UK consumer and trade audience.
AUDIENCE: Primarily UK consumers and trade (through Wine Blast’s podcast audience and Peter Richards’ various media associations and platforms). Wine Blast has listeners in 200+ countries with their primary audiences located in the UK (35% of listeners), the USA (26%) and Australia (6%). Susie & Peter’s social followers/traffic is tracked conservatively at 60,000.
ELIGIBILITY: Wine exporters to the UK, based in Maragret River and Great Southern wine regions, are invited to participate in this activation.
COST TO PARTICIPATE: Producers can participate in Peter Richards’ itinerary on a user pays basis. Those who are successful will be able to curate an itinerary to showcase their region, brand and wines to tell their own unique stories. Wine Blast and Peter Richards will retain total editorial independence and control.
Opportunities to participate are costed between $400 and $800 per allotted itinerary/time-slot (with all meals, tastings and experiences covered by producers).
TIMING: Monday 11th to Sunday 17th November, 2024 (inbound visit program, with podcast to follow)
